Travel Series 2 - Paris (J'aime Paris beaucoup!)

In the Easter holiday, travelling with 4 Bathonians and 3 Londoners, to the City of Romance - Paris, France!

Still remember I have to face the firm face of Dr. MDL and finally, well...

But the trip turns out to be O----K!!!

So lets get started ~

Lets get started with Italy - Rome, Vatican City, Florence, Pisa, Sienna and Venice =)

Rome, Italy

It is an amphitheatre (alternatively amphitheater) is an open-air venue for spectator sports, concerts, rallies, or theatrical performances.

Florence, Italy

The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore is the cathedral church (Duomo) of Florence, Italy, begun in 1296 in the Gothic style to the design of Arnolfo di Cambio and completed structurally in 1436 with the dome engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi. The exterior of the basilica is faced with polychrome marble panels in various shades of green and pink bordered by white and has an elaborate 19th century Gothic Revival facade by Emilio De Fabris.

The cathedral complex, located in Piazza del Duomo, includes the Baptistery and Giotto's Campanile. The three buildings are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site covering the historic centre of Florence and are a major attraction to tourists visiting the region of Tuscany. The basilica is one of Italy's largest churches, and until the modern era, the dome was the largest in the world. It remains the largest brick dome ever constructed.

 Pisa, Italy

The Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italian: Torre pendente di Pisa) or simply the Tower of Pisa (La Torre di Pisa) is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. It is situated behind the Cathedral and is the third oldest structure in Pisa's Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo) after the Cathedral and the Baptistry.

Although intended to stand vertically, the tower began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundation and loose substrate that has allowed the foundation to shift direction. The tower currently leans to the southwest.

The height of the tower is 55.86 m (183.27 ft) from the ground on the lowest side and 56.70 m (186.02 ft) on the highest side.

Galileo Galilei is said to have dropped two cannon balls of different masses from the tower to demonstrate that their speed of descent was independent of their mass. However, this is considered an apocryphal tale, its only source being Galileo's secretary.

During World War II, the Allies discovered that the Nazis were using it as an observation post. A U.S. Army sergeant was briefly entrusted with the fate of the tower and his decision not to call in an artillery strike saved the tower from destruction.

In 1987, the tower was declared as part of the Piazza del Duomo UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the neighbouring cathedral, baptistery and cemetery.

Venice, Italy

Venice (Italian: Venezia / Venetian: Venesia), 

capital of the northern region Veneto.

Together with Padua, forms the Padua-Venice Metropolitan Area.

Most famous for its waterways and Gondola! =)

Let me introduce you to Centennial Hall, Poland! (Hala Ludowa)

The Centennial Hall (German: Jahrhunderthalle, Polish: Hala Stulecia or Hala Ludowa) is a historic building in Wrocław, Poland. It was constructed according to the plans of architect Max Berg in 1911-1913, when the city was part of the German Empire. As an early landmark of reinforced concrete architecture, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006.

骑车的联想

昨天，用家里那老爷脚踏车送午餐给在办公室的妈妈。。。

汤盒吊在左边，饭盒吊在右边。。。

我对饭盒还蛮有信心。。。对汤盒却是千怕万怕。。。

因为汤盒很不平稳。。。好像摇摇欲坠似的。。。

跌下不打紧。。。最怕里面的汤流出来呀！

所以骑脚踏车也提心吊胆的。。。

骑车的路上。。。

这才想起母亲怀胎我们九个月时，那种忧虑、担忧，岂不更惨？

而我的忧虑，就只是在那路上，短短的十分钟罢了。。。

是啊，母亲怀胎九个月。。。

想必除了得担心自己的安危以外，最重要的，还是肚子里的那一个小孩儿啊。。。

今天爸爸接来朋友的摩托车，载我去邮政局办事。。。

去时还好。。。没想到回家的路上，竟下起了倾盆大雨。。。

但奇迹似的，也许摩托以高速行驶。。。所以雨水都被‘闪’去一边了吧。。。

回来后，才发现身为司机的父亲，前身已经湿透了。。。

原来，摩托以高速行驶时，一切的雨水已打在父亲的身上，我才可“幸免于难”。。。

原来。。。

想起在吉隆坡求学的日子，有一次手提电脑坏了，修千次还修不好，气死我也。。。

最后得麻烦一个朋友载我去 LOWYAT 解决了。。。

在摩托车上的我有史以来以高速在吉隆坡的马路上以摩托奔驰。。。感觉很新鲜。。。

而说得没错，大马首都的交通真够“geng"的！

从马路上向着KLCC奔驰，吉隆坡塔和国油双峰塔都显得那么宏伟。。。

心里不禁感叹：原来这些塔所得非虚名啊！

其实更要感谢那粒朋友，不但愿意腾出时间陪我去理论，更愿意千里迢迢送我一程！

在这儿说也没用，他不会来这儿。。。更何况，他（或她？）不是华人。。。
